We love hosting private events! We’ve done large groups for birthdays or business meeting to small family wheel sessions. Whatever your need, we are happy to work with you to figure out a way to make your even fun and unique.

What can a private party do at The Refinery?
Bring food! No party is complete without some snacks!
Bring alcohol. 21 and older only of course! (Parties with alcohol cannot be during open hours)
Flexible scheduling. We do have workshops fairly frequently, but we also have a pretty open availability for private groups. Email us for availability.
Hand-building OR wheel (depending on the number of people!) Our wheel classroom is limited to 6 people and we can have up to 16 at our work tables. Want to mill around? Our space capacity limit is 60!
Have a unique experience and a one-of-a-kind souvenir that they made! You can’t do this anywhere else in the area!
Just have clay available for guests to play with during a party. This isn’t fired and gives more flexibility. Great for large groups and these parties get a discount on bookings!
When do you need to book a private party?
We need at least three week’s notice to book a private event and there’s no guarantee that you’re going to get the time and date that you want unless you’re booking 8 weeks in advance. Why is that? We schedule our workshops over a month ahead of time so that time you want might be taken up by a workshop already. If you don’t give 8 weeks notice, be prepared to be flexible!
How much is this going to cost?
A private party is generally just as much work for us as a workshop (unless you’re choosing to play with clay and not keep the pieces). In fact, it might surprise you to know that most of the work happens after your event! Many studios charge the same amount per person for a private party as they do for a pre-scheduled workshop. We like to give groups of 8 and up a 10% discount on pricing though. This discount is only applicable to hand-building workshops.
